What does it mean to work with cinema today, and what do we want to show with it? Is this the question that pierces the minds of most audiovisual producers, especially us students of this art?  When we looked at the works produced in our institution and selected the ones that would be part of the curatorship of Mostra em Curso in CEN’s 15th edition, we noticed a tireless desire to answer this question. Perhaps not in a traditional way, but in our own way. By making art.

The three works portray young people in their world, whether fictional, tangible or emotional. Fiction that brings us reality. The documented reality takes us to the past and memories, and the experimental that moves between the real and the abstract. They are opposite poles with no apparent connection, but they answer the two initial questions together. They have a visceral sense of expressing their ideas and perceptions to the world, but also internally. This power, which is almost tangible in the seventh art, makes us feel, think, identify with, and even change ourselves.

Through our selection, we seek to show works that bring this diversity of cinematographic intentions and that represent the projects sent by UniRitter audiovisual students.
